The Love Of A Good Addiction
Addiction is the most faithful of partners.
Like a lover it surrounds you with its warm embrace.
It caresses you with a silver tongue
Whispering words of comfort, solace and consummate passion.
As with a jealous paramour, however, she will not let you leave.
The green-eyed monster extends her claws and hooks you.
Its talons drive through your body to enslave your very soul.
It is both rapaciously hungry yet incredibly generous:
Feeds on weakness.
Repays with disability.
Feeds on dependence.
Repays with greater desire.
Feeds on lack of drive.
Repays with stagnation.
Feeds on self-loathing.
Repays with lack of self-esteem.
It is much maligned by many but rarely correctly understood.
Fortunately for me I have a great deal of listeners who do.
I have filed for divorce.

Great writing, friend.
I'm addicted to cigerettes and a Dr. told me they are harder to quit than herion. So I can relate in my own way.
