Star-Trekker

Star-Trekker

If you ask me to go get you something that is not in your area, I’ll plan a route and execute
Grab the item and deposit it forthwith
I am a star who treks the planet, for your pleasure fulfilment
But I don’t drive a car
I get public transport, mainly the bus
From hither to thither

Argos to Argos, today I go
To get your product from the new catalogue
Your precious new burble
I’m like a poor man’s Fed-Ex or U.P.S
Give me your codes and location
This trek star will fetch it for you
But if it’s way heavy
I’m afraid you’ll have to get it delivered by van, plus they charge
Light items only for the star-trekker, man

'Star-Trekker' is a delightful light poem and very funny too. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this easy-going verse; what a welcome change from the heaviness we poets tend to dwell in! To be sure, I am really glad that this poem was light-weight enough so that you were able to do what you did, i.e., DELIVER. Thanks for the gift...

ps Do you deliver on Sundays? To New York?
