What lies beneath,
under my skin,
there is a person.
She is screaming to come out.
That poor girl, to many doubts.
Trying so hard to be loved by everyone.
All she wants is a place to call her own,
but she's just left alone
She'll never be heard,
but one day she will grow wings and fly like a bird.
You'll regret not seeing her best,
this life was just a test.
I bet you didn't hear her cries,
all because of your lies...
Grinding her teeth,
ignoring that girl beneath.

Captivatingly remarkable this poem is! It reminds us that we need to give every individual the opportunity to express themselves. You have accomplished such a wonderful task of responding to life in an eloquent manner,

I think Beneath is a very powerful and yet an easy-to-read poem; not that it is without pain -- but it is expressed so freely, as if a river. This is fine example of poetry that touches upon the flimsy masks we all hide behind. Wonderful words!
