Crickets chirp and songbirds sing,
As a drastic change takes hold of me.
No longer are days spent in gloom and emotion,
But rather still replaced with faith and devotion
So tired was my life of old
So weak and lonely, never brave never bold
Too brittle to handle each trial and test,
Too broken to act on what was best
But that’s all changed now, the past is the past
The future’s bright, and my strength will last
With my smile returning and my thoughts assuring
I’ll never return to those bridges left burning

What a great turn -- 180 degrees, what? And expressed beautifully; not all are capable of such revolving -- don't ask -- -- thanks for an uplifting and positively good poem -- and thanks for giving it to us.

PS I see no 'shadowman' in this writing -- just the opposite, in fact... |
