king in crows
murder still crews
cries murder
from praying pigeons
the church is lined
hummed holy pews
the boys crying in
broken news
the closets full
of nowhere shoes
and the mice the sing
walls ring
steam rises
westward sets
dust blows
the horse makes bets

How very intriguing! This sounds like a combination of The Reign of Terror (under Robesspieree) and an alternate world (the horse makes bets). Keep writing such interesting poetry,

Topic: Ambiguous Poetry
What a special poem. I love the whole thing -- but especially 'the closets full of nowhere shoes' and the very last line. Appreciate the said-ambiguity, I. Respond to the flow, the texture, the surprise, the colors -- of the words. Very special poem. It is a song. --flinthunter
