Release

Contributed by Shabby on Tuesday, 29th April 2003 @ 10:05:00 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

Let me stroke your face as you comfort others, let me hold you while you cry
lay your head upon my breasts, while the inside of me dies

Darkness surrounds now, no way out, a soul is dying, a heart cries out
you are the lucky one, who doesnt have to feel, I am the damned one, my
pain is real

The candle burns out on my soul, the flicker loses its glow
I feel myself falling deeper in despair, I feel my lungs begging for just an
ounce of air

No one hears, no one sees, life goes on except inside of me
how long must I be in torment, how long must I grieve
how long do I wait for my heart not to bleed

I've tried the light, I've searched the darkness, I've seen everything in between
tis all the same, will never change, I will never be free "sigh"

Im always ok, I've always been and I will always have to be

Somewhere along the way I was cursed to this life I lead
was it that gentle touch I gave, was it a kind word I breathed
was it something I did when I was needed, was it always meant to be this
way for me

Do I swear to never feel, never heal, never be someone's healer, lover, listener
mother, sister or friend, what the hell does it really matter in the end

I've been torn down one cell at a time, I've been dismembered, one limb, one
eye, thrown to the wolves, betrayed, deceived, and all because I was
a stupid fool who believed

Let me stroke your face as you comfort others, let me hold you while you cry
lay your head upon my breasts, while the inside of me dies.
