Once Upon A Time
There Were Two Lovely
Stick Children
Both Were Made
From Tender Branches
Which Fell From The Top
Of A Swaying Oak Tree
Some Of Their Twigs
Were Broken Off
Which Made It Difficult
For Them To Move About
The Strong Oak Tree
Looked To Them
In Pitty
And Said
"How You Must Wish
You Were Still Part Of Me
For Then You
Would Still Be Everything I Am"
"Oh No
Old Oak Tree
For When
We Come
Together
We Become
More Than You"

The Stick Children is a masterful poem; beautiful to read -- and it makes you think. It has a delightful feeling. It seems almost like a children's story -- but not a silly one -- there are children's books that are masterpieces -- as you know. Thanks for sharing this poem with us! --flinthunter
PS I know: there is a NOSTALGIC feeling to it-- it reminds me Of. Not quite dejas vu -- but not quite not either (what?). |
