The Key To Attaining Elegance

Contributed by Deidra_Carmichael on Wednesday, 7th September 2011 @ 05:41:22 AM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

With corset tightened and pendant in place
Along with powdered curls and rouge on her face
Do such things deem a young lady sophisticated
Is this the key to attaining elegance

The fair maiden envisions her night tonight
Attending the ball of a lifetime
Oh how she shall dance the night away
Smiling with every sweep of her gown
She now glances at her extravagant garb

Now to consult the true critic; the mirror
The young lady silently poses her question
Have I attained true elegance
After all I am wearing the proper attire and hairstyle
I've mastered every dance and know the right gestures

The mirror image smiled and explained
The key to attaining elegance lies within
Within your soul and emotions
Once you have obtained joy and a caring heart
All of this garb, dancing, and gestures
Will look even more sophisticated
The fair maiden received this advice thankfully
And that night all atteding the ball noticed true elegance

Dear! What an elegant and uplifting poem! I was afraid it would sink -- and she would see herself in the mirror and not be pleased; that the mirror spoke Wisdom was extremely pleasurable to me! Congratulations on a beautiful work of art and a thrilling moment in words... --Flint

A truly creative, passage
something about elegance
attracts the eyes of many
the way this piece was scripted
is attributed to your talents
well done, well received
