My Shadow

Contributed by vydana on Tuesday, 29th April 2003 @ 07:05:00 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I look down to the ground, and what do I see,
My dark a tormenting shadow, following me,
From this shadow, I can never escape.
A resemblance of my body is its shape,
But it holds inside its black core,
The emotions I can’t handle anymore.
It taunts me with this sadness and pain,
My end and demise, in itself it contains.
To run from it I constantly try,
Your plan for my end, I attempt to defy,
But, I fear you are too strong to fight.
Knowing you’re a shadow, I flee the light,
Thinking that will be your death, your end,
But to be happy in this darkness, I cannot pretend.
Surrounded by blackness, weak and alone,
To lash out, to cry, to run from those I know
Is what my heart and soul tells me I should do.
How I feel in my heart, to you I can’t construe.
So, alone with my shadow this battle will be fought,
And to a place of peace, my soul will be brought.

Very well written. I enjoyed this immensely I have felt like that at times. Wanting to flee from something or someone, but being unable to.
Surrounded by blackness, weak and alone,
To lash out, to cry, to run from those I know
Loved those 2 lines spoke to me deeply

Imagination has been both the blessing and the curse of mankind .It is only by contolling it that we have survived. If and when it controls us we perish.

It's your choice
