I want freedom
freedom to reason and think
without fetters in the mind
for thinking makes us human;
I want freedom
freedom to speak out my thoughts
reach out to fellow beings
across races,creed or class;
I want freedom to dream
wake and roll my sleeves
to turn them reality
the architect of my destiny.
I want freedom to move
across artificial borders and frontiers
reach out to fellow humanity
who yearn for a new song;
I want freedom to walk
for miles without chains
through hills ,valleys,plains
listening to music of the birds;
I want freedom
to be and become.

Splendid! Altogether captivating and emotional I must say! As humans we do have certain unalienable rights as you wish to attain, according to your poem. The trouble is not all humans will acknowledge this. I wish you the best in life and God bless,
Deidra |
