I have seen the peak
Reached the pinnacle
But I could not hold on
My grip was too loose
My thoughts unfocused
And I slid down the
Treacherous slope
To my previous position
Never again to see
From such lofty heights
Or experience the true
Awe of it all
Now broken
Mind and body
Distorted, deformed
I can mournfully say
Once upon an ideal
Yet brief time
I saw the peak
I reached the pinnacle

Reminds me of snakes and ladders as a kid.
Only joking. Dissapointment is truly energy sapping. |

It is a tough thing to glimpse what we are reaching for only to lose it in the end...Stay strong... |
