The money game.
a means to make up for the obvious,
gleefully lacking subtlety.
Walking the tight-rope of social acceptance.
Aiming for class
or
giving people (who have what you want)
what they want
and to hell with the rest.
Beauty has some value
as long as beauty takes part.
The money game breeds confidence
for those who can play.
Those who can't?
they practise being nice
or,
they judge.
But they don't get through the doors.
The money game provides a bubble,
a blanket. Insulation from the others-
those who apply effort to survive
and yet still struggle.
The money game tells you that you are better
because you have more
whether you deserve this status, or not.
All take part in some way or other,
as long as they are above someone else-
at least for some of the time.
We all lose an aspect of ourselves
and we all ignore the best of others
but to play the money game well
you must take, and give
with a smile.
