Cliche Popstar Trajedy Headline

Contributed by puppy_dog_eyes on Thursday, 28th July 2011 @ 05:04:08 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

The old familiar resurfaces in tabloid sensationalist prose
Same set and story, different star cast into the central role
A life barely lived they say, yet bloated with excess and the trappings of celebrity
Another fatal crash from the fast lane because fast was not quick enough

I could play the pity game, shed crocodile tears for a stranger
Defend a helpless victim, misunderstood by all but closest friends
Weep for a flame blown out long before the candle should have dimmed
Make claims of innocence, cite cloaked corruption as the cause

Is fame such a blemish on society, does it force the mind to crumble?
Unhooked from reality, the battle is a war fought unarmed but already lost
For those who choose this path to adoration, remember untimely death is a leveller
Drug abuse is still a choice, not a lifestyle pre-ordained.

There are those on this earth whose hands are tied, where option overlooked
The starving mouths from the ragged lands, the helpless chewed up by disease
For the self induced I can only grieve, not for the life cut short
But for those things lost that should never have gone, reality and sense.

While I applaud your decision to write what's on your mind about this, I think it would be difficult to judge Amy's actions without ever having so much as met her. Certainly on some level she was responsible for her own life, but that doesn't mean that her death was not tragic. More tragic than the death of your cousin? No, I would say not, but it is sad to see that the media refuses to leave her alone even now.

She did die of such a corrupt lifestyle tis true. I don't know if she found Jesus on her deathbed but remember we have till that point to be saved,

Hi,

Alas ... I must agree with your statements,
whilst at the same time mourn the tragic
waste of a young life - whether that be from
the actions of a monster, the actions of war,
the misery of starvation, or self-infliction.

IN CAELO QUIES (there is peace in heaven).

Tommy
