|
The volunteer is overlooked
she seethes within and hides with forced calm
tense and frightened, like a small child
that suddenly doesn't belong
she hesitates every word
finding and fearing hidden meaning
no longer dreaming
life is a slog
and they are all laughing
she knows these are just feelings
and they will pass
but for now, they rule
she reddens and looks as she feels
her transparency fuels her paranoia.

It's not paranoia if they are really all out to get you :P
Sorry just couldn't resist adding that :) Thanks for the read and comment on my poem too btw. I like this... short, to the point, and yet gives you more of a complete emotional story than a lot of the longest poems I've read... good job! |

Paranoia is a horrible disposition,
usually brought on by extreme trauma of sorts,
or drugs mostly,and the scary thing about paranoia
is that people who aren't paranoid are often cast as so,
and many times, what they know
to be truth is called paranoia,and that's brilliance
well written
