I miss the times we used to share
When we were single and without a care
Everything was so much easier then
before she came along with her poisoned pen
I liked her you know, I really did
but she saw me as a threat so quickly got rid!
Reluctantly, I stood back and let you go
so your love may flourish, bloom and grow
Yet upon my return I find you’re alone
Your heart aching and without a home
I’m so sorry I wasn’t there for you
Is it possible we could start anew?
I’ll never again leave your side my friend
I’ll be here for you ‘til the very end.

I needn’t name you, you know who you are
I still can’t believe it got that far!
Maybe in some way she still blames me
but then maybe she just wasn’t ready.
