The Whimsical Grounds

I was peering through into the sordid revellry one night
filled with yawning wanderlust
at the plume of sultry yet slovenly smoke diffusing , mingling
of nefarious love un navigated as dust drones in the background
The pinstriped tent red and white
a coveted apparition
like a pole vault hurtling through the bruised night sky
burnished under a canopy of assuring stars
elsuive an estranged from the squinting morning
Its way past bedtime for the gawking child toting
pink as pyjamas candy floss
hair speckless clean and touseled
feet unclouted by the wind
Oh do you know
it was translucent
i could barely decipher the already dappled figures
caterpaulted through the hues of warmth
then drifting sailing unassailed
through the air musky and mottled
Flying clowns with drowsy propellers fixed to their scalloped head gear
The tent is impenetrable
oh watch it there dont toss and turn in bed too vigorously
lest......
I joined them somehow I was the debunte on the tarpaulin
swinging through the airin exhilaration
EXEUNT
I told you not to rub your groggy eyes
And I was glimpsing through the tent
glimpsing through a dream
feckless but now affronted by my wake
