A Poem Named Poetry

Contributed by JohnnyFallen on Wednesday, 13th July 2011 @ 12:41:21 PM in AEST
Topic: poets

So unique, it has no complete definition
To my ears, it is no irritation
Being able to write one is a gift from above
If you're lucky, it's something you love
Beautiful as snow
This I know
Listening to a poem is like listening to rain
It has the power to relieve pain
Elegantly dressed with words
It's also heard from the birds
A global phenomenon
It will go on
Immortality it has, will never die
Never fails to satisfy
It will live forever
Our hearts are attached to it, together
So let us embrace it
Do not fret

God has given us a gift
The talent of writing poetry

You are correct the ability to write is a gift
something I personally have taken for granted
as do people who can walk take
it for granted that they can walk
It leaves me to believe our quest is to reach others with our words
and in this case you have, truly a beautiful piece

Listening to a poem is like listening to rain.........to relieve pain. What a great line and something I can feel and relate to and a wonderful description of the empathic communication and power of words.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
