a wounded poet

I remember the sun on the grass
Sitting under that weeping willow tree
Here lied the blood of a wounded poet
The dreams of the damned
Float around on the Dead Sea
I can see darkness grasping for light
As the light of the moon bleeds
I can see views beyond four walls
I now know all that I could not see
It was then, I saw you
Floating around on the Dead Sea
I could not save you, for I did not care to
I could see darkness grasping
For that crown of gold I once gave to you
Suddenly, all I saw was a crown of old
I remember the moonlight on my skin
Sitting under that weeping willow tree
Here revived the soul of a once wounded poet

Very good write, I really enjoyed. This cuts deep and leaves an unhealing scar because it is all so true.

better to be hated for who you are than loved for who you are not. |
