Meant to Be

Topic: InspirationalPoems

Life for me has changed very much,
People have come and gone
Some things I regret and others I don’t
But nothings the same of this I'm sure

Growing in time and not in height
but in spirit and in mind
Though sometimes I feel trapped
and my appearance is my curse

All those whom I encounter see a
little girl who lives a grown up life
and wants to mother me though
A grown woman I am

Are my actions childish and my
words not intelligent enough
That my age instead of my looks
does not show its true identity

Am I not seasoned enough
Have I not lived a life full of
experiences and tears that has
left me with scars and lifelong fears.

Fears that will never subside and that
I must battle with on a day to day
It’s a battle that I have with truly
finding and knowing who I am

What is it about me that is unclear
in the sight of those who in my
presence stand
Am I not what I should be

Defining who and what I am
or am to be is a journey that
I must take though this Journey
is a long overdue trip that has
not really begun

What will I find at the end of
this road Will I see what others
in me see
Is what they see really me
or something I pretend to be

My fear is never knowing and
maybe knowing will never come
But I do have knowledge that someone
really knows me…Only One

Finding oneself really isn’t that
difficult, really not at all
Looking up to your creator
is when all the answers will fall

HE the one who knew you
before you were formed
HE who sees you in your truest
and rarest form and knows you
better than you know yourself

Why do we stay searching for
something we may never find
Knowing Him who knows all
will certainly open the eyes of
the Blind

One day in his presence I will stand
and all my searching will be complete
When he calls me by my New name
it will be then I will know who I
truly am, was and was always meant to be.

I hope your right. But in the mean-time why not enjoy yourself! It's good to hedge your bets. Waiting for god? pointless. We're all gonna die anyway. I'm sure we were supposed to do stuff while we were here, otherwise, ?. Does god really want millions and millions of fearful, characterless, followers who faithfully follow instruction from books written by other people who probably never followed the same instructions themselvesbehind closed doors. I suspect he'd get a bit bored and vengeful. Oh, and why would he be a he anyway? That would suggest a she would come into it which would knock the whole monotheistic thing out of the water. If there isn't a she then I guess he'd be very lonely and would despise the loved up characterless followers. Either way, I'm going on a bit.

A thoughtful write. We're here while we are, and we do the best we can with the life we have. Well penned, though could use a gentle spellcheck. Not sure they let you do that here though. So that's a drawback. Enjoyed the read. You've written a bit of a gem here. tfs
