Eulogy

I stare into his eyes, the bastard to blame
The mirror cannot hide all of his shame
The devil inside who drove her away
My own ******* self is the one left to blame
I can bleed out the sadness, drink away the pain
I can scream out her name, and take it in vain
It won't bring her back, it can't change the past
We were young and in love and it ended so fast
Nothing can change all the things that I said
And these demons they'll haunt me until I am dead
There's no hope in rebuilding the life we once lead
The love we once shared has been ripped into shreds
My memories of us are beginning to fade
So condemned I lay forever in decay
Build me a coffin from the regret in my chest
Dig me grave so I can finally rest
Fill it with guilt that I keep deep inside
Under six feet of apathy I'm buried alive
The sun does not shine on my unmarked grave
My heart's left in shards, there's too little to save
My mind begins racing as I draw my last breath
And I finally find peace as I welcome sweet death
But before I must go I've got one thing to say
And these words still ring true as I close on this day
When I said that I love you what I meant was forever
When I say that I need you it's now more than ever
When I promised I'd keep you inside of my heart
Darling, what I meant to say was til death do us part
