A Charred Soul

I spend to many nights drowning in seclusion
Lying bend over in the fetal position on my bed
Surrounded by all kinds of fire-breathing illusions
And at day fighting to stay ahead
Sitting bend over the desk, on a chair
Keeping my head down to avoid the hot air
I changed to much and I was fast
Making remarks at the expense of most
Trying to get over the hot images of the past
Unguided as a free floating corpse searching for coast
To get a moment's rest from the constant commotion
of this neurotic warm modern urban ocean
I grasped blindly for the few straws
In hopes to find someone to cool my burn
But in my grasp they always crumble because
I don't allow it,ever since the fire made me stern
