look whose come for dinner

It bites me.
Like a sudden wave, I am overcome.
Now, the venom paralyses-
I can't move though I still feel the pain
(evolution deems anaesthesia unnecessary).
I feel it crawling, turning on my back.
I can barely breath...
but I do anyway, worse luck!
It cuts into me, at it's own leisure,
it can take it's time. I offer no barrier to it's intentions.
I don't bleed enough for it to matter.
There's a pushing and scraping, then it flies away.
I sit, wondering if it is over?
Then....
a strange tickling occurs,
faint at first, though I still can't move.
Then the penny drops.
There's something inside me.
Something tiny, for now...
It's eating me!
I can't move.
My life force used only to keep me fresh
whilst it dines in comfort.
There's no way back, or forward.
Twinges of pain as nerve matter is consumed.
I wait until I, am no more.
it takes it's time
I quiver, as it's increasing, tremulous volume ascends toward my cranium
never quite killing in it''s careful consumption.
I fear my brain is on the menu.
I hear the scraping, like heavy breathing on my neck.
This is it. My destiny.
The ultimate insult to my dignity.
A pure and necessary evil.

From start to finish, I found myself immersed
your writting style is flawless and accomplished
The darkness was very vivid and the conveyance
was smoothly executed
It's an honor to read your work

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
