Fetch a child, a carnival ride
To vanish in a world of delight
Be the feast of the day, having his way
Such pleasures last the course of the night.
When a new love found, such pleasures abound.
The heart as a feather feels light.
Feelings soar, reason obscure,
Elucidation to never be found.
When the carnival moves on
All festivities be gone
Children’s memories do not linger long.
If time could tell, the future be told.
Of a love you could no longer hold.
For the price of a ticket,
Would you have gone for the ride.
On the creature consuming your soul?
