Demonica
Part4

Death, eternal limbo, has a home here in Demonica.
I listened to the tails in the saloon told by the bar tender.
While I was drinking at the bar.
They say the young boy who killed Black Death was playing possum when he shot him dead right between the eyes and subsequently sent him to hell.
Demonica is hell in the Wild, Wild West son you’re its newest resident.
This drinks on the house son but the rest you can pay for with your soul, he laughed and laughed.
It wasn’t that funny and the whisky wasn’t that nice either.

I heard a smash and crash behind me.
The card game was turning into a bar brawl and it would be rude of me not to participate.
I grabbed a bottle and smashed it on someone’s head, punched another in the mush and kicked one down a flight of stairs.
Us cowboys love a gut ruckus and this was getting a bit out of hand for me as the shooting started I ducked for cover.

I could here the clunk of his heavy boots and spurs scraping along the wooden floor of the saloon.
Then the shots rang out.
Shot after shot as one after another man fell in a bloody heap on the hardwood floor.
He continued to shoot the shiitake out of the room.
Wood chips and splinters from tables and chairs plus fragments of glass and the smell of old whisky filled the air.
The smell of gunfire and blood was predominant too.

I could here Back Death approaching, laughing.
How could I get one up on death?
Today I took a bullet and was transported to a place of no return.
All who have tried have failed and have to spend eternity her on this shiitake hole town.
To survive I’ll have to change my ways and act as though I’m not as good as I actually am, to fool my foes and to get through the 24 hours alive with a chance of escaping.
I will beat you death, just watch.

To be continued….

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
