Worrying about pieces of paper
got no faith in a saviour
can't insure myself for a later
for the others they just don't cater
without presenting a bill
eating but thinking of the prices
get my drinks without ices
no individual portions, just slices
in a financial crisis
stick my snout in the swill
kindness, that feeling in my tummy
all warm, fuzzy and funny
remembered, but no longer sunny
eyes don't stream, no longer runny
lazy ways to a will
border crossing, we're fleeing a crisis
Europe, it's some kind of lie this
sleeping on Athens streets, can't deny this
why this?
It's making me ill
you're invasion, an illogical attack
burnt my bridges now I cannot go back
all I have is carried in a sack
my children look at me and what I lack
all I want is my own window sill.
Lorries go past every day
risking our lives is the one way
to make it to somewhere where we can stay
my kids, they are small so here I lay
no law can protect us as we spill
