The door opens.
She stands closed,
A grim inspection.
The way she smiles,
Her ugliness so close
Soothes the hidden scar.
The stars have broken me
The light so deep above
An ocean in a sea—
The world goes by,
The door closes.
I envy the sound.

'An ocean in a sea' is a luscious poem -- full of pictures -- enticing -- and easy to read. I especially like the carry-over of the theme of the door -- opening and closing. So much imagery in this free-flowing and continuously-rolling verse. Grand. Special. Captivating.
