Invitation To Dance

Contributed by mmiss on Tuesday, 14th June 2011 @ 09:55:40 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

sound asleep in bed
I heard a noise
suddenly I turned my head

standing in the darkness
He was there
His hands reaching out... for mine
as I was asked
"could I have this dance tonight?"

a thousand angels, standing watch
anticipating, wondering
what would I do
resistence... I had none
as my hand did respond
His radiant love, so filled the room

He said...
I just want you to dance with Me,
while the angels look on

come..
We'll dance through the night
around My Throne
You can stand on My feet
if you need to
I'll never let you fall
as long as you hold on
to My right arm
and if only you let Me...
I'll lead you

Seems we danced forever
swirling, swaying
gravity left my feet
totally abandoned to the dance
lost in His pure, sweet embrace

He pauses...

His loving gaze fell completely upon me
more loved, I became
more than any love I've ever known before

Again ..
we danced

the wind of His Spirit
blowing my hair
my gown...
floating in air
swirling, turning
We danced...me and Jesus

...for eternity

Ah I didn't see the end coming. I have to say though seemed like it'd be a bit more romantic than what it was.

Your poem has amazing flow, and the fact that it is half-real half-dream is very interesting, too. And the nice touch at the end, giving praise to Our Lord and Savior! Great read, five stars!!
