In room light dimly lit
Upon the setting sun
Eyelids heavy
Burdened by woes
Cares of the world
Looking down bare wooden floor
Stuck between limbo and nowhere.
Feelings of numbness
Flow through the veins of the being.
Stuck
No direction toward one’s path of destination.
A frozen statue
No coherent words
In a daze.
Staring at the leaky roof
As it drips tears of sorrow
Music resonates out empty lyrics
Puzzled as to its meaning
Humming, turning sideways
Scratching head of emptiness
Heartbeat off
Broken by meaningless love
Slowly sleeping
Into a clouded daze.

Broken love can do that to a person. Your poem is very vivid in its details. |
