Thanks for all the hugs
These past couple of days
Thanks for the kisses, at the end of each text
And triple checking I’m ok.
Thanks for touching my shoulder
When you’ve figured I’m not right
Thanks for pulling me closer
To make me sure I’ll be alright.
Thanks for playing footsie
Under every table we are at
Thanks for looking at me always
And giving the seat next to you a pat.
Thanks for squeezing my hand
Kissing my cheek
Because your trying to make me stronger
When you know I’m feeling weak.
Thanks for talking to me lots
About what’s on my mind
Thanks for talking to me about everything
and just generally being kind.
Thanks for telling me you love me
Even though it’s out of the blue
Thanks for working out where I am
And just being in that room.
Thanks for following me around
So I know your always there
Thanks for making sure I know
That you will always care.
Even when you’re feeling real bad
Thanks for still being loving you
Thanks for letting me use my imagination
Because we all know none of this is true.

Whew! I agree with Natkingcole---that last line is a real jolt!! Gets us right out of our comfort zone. Great read, thanks for sharing!
