Armchair Wind.

This morning the wind is raising hell.
The devil's disciples are at worship in the Elms,
Leaf and twig a blur in a manic disposition,
The upper boughs whipped into subservience.
The hillside has surrendered it's serenity
And the stream is wailing, each droplet of water
A soothing coolness on my troubled mind.
In the bottom pasture the sheep are bleating pathetically,
Lambs, some in search of the teat,
Others, a warm fleece and tender tongue , sit under a wall,
Watching the devil at work.
And way above on the stretching sky, wind sculptured and wild,
A Buzzard is tossed like a stray leaf in Autumn.
The horizon creeps nearer, the stream wails on,
The sheep sink deeper into despair
And the Elms, their nerves shredded, weep.
I snuggle deeper into my armchair and continue watching.

sounds like you've got a nice view and something other than a west facing conservatory, unlike mine. |

Great write once more Dennis, I must admit I really enjoy it when it's windy you really get to feel the power of mother nature and you've captured that here. |

Hi Dennis,
In Scotland we call this a heatwave!
Could feel every gust of wind here, every
raindrop, every feeling of misery.
Well scribed, Dennis!
