Atleast until the wounds heal

Contributed by lavenderfeathers on Tuesday, 24th May 2011 @ 01:13:27 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

You walk quietly in my dreams
Careful not wake me up from this world I painted
Beautifully sketched using the sound of your laughter
then covered in a layer of warmth from your embrace,
along with fragments of our love
(..still the tears force this artwork to bleed)

I wish to remain here
until the captive sands of time break free from the glass
until this pain becomes bearable
'til the screams of my sorrow are drowned by your sweet voice
(..even though, I know.. time won't stop for us)

In this world, my heart feels at rest
I can feel your love enveloping me
Like the sun, lovingly feeding happiness to everything it touches
I'll face upwards towards the sky
(..although these hands can't reach you)

Be careful not to shed tears
You might just wake me up from this gentle world
Allow me to convince myself this is where I belong
because I'm desperately holding onto something..
anything to prove that this place is not make believe
(...clinging onto something that can't be held)
even so, allow me to stay here a little longer
Just until these wounds heal
(..even if the scars of our love are left behind, serving as reminders of what once was)
