I don't have time, I must be there
a place for which I just don't care
but waiting grates, when running late
brittle cracks form on my plate
I judge too quick, and make a fuss
grasping at patience on the bus
I look for things that aren't quite right
forever on the edge of fight
childhood memories of my self
pure in nature, poorly health
a mother that doted with love
but made me feel as if above
I realise now all my mistakes
trueness elevates a fake
for stories only impress self
spewing out just to fill a delf
I never took time to grow up
an ageing wrinkly selfish pup
but now at last I see the truth
My failed attempt to run, the proof.
so I must look upon my child
and hope his path runs far and wild
for I just feared to onward tread
a negative infected head.
I look on up, a lovely day
warmed by pleasant sunny rays
reflected self looks back ghostly
what happened to the younger me?
A sky so blue and always new
forever clean and onward true
it simply does and doesn't try
If only I could match the sky
I get off at my usual stop
and buy sweets from the local shop
I go back home and start anew
my faults are many, I'll lose a few
I look my boy right in the eye
and tell him that now on I'll try
starting tomorrow, effort made
he knows I just won't make the grade
for deep within there is myself
born to be, not no one else
and so problems are surely hid
though now and then, I try to kid
but my boy knows despite intentions
right up until I draw my pension
words of wisdom sometimes said
but they're just words.....
