Hey, man! Can you see?
Who’s that long hair
givin’ the peace sign to me?
Wearin’ tie-dye, bell bottoms
Anti-war sign
Offering love, understanding
Says “it’s all mine.”
“Groovy, far-out,” says he
Loves to listen to the Beatles album
“Let It Be.”
Smoking a funny cigarette
that smells like burning rope,
Says “it’s reefer, pot, silly. Great dope!”
Talks of flying, spacing out, getting high
Says, “Let’s have fun!”
I say, “Really? Cool..” with a sigh.
“Come,” he says, “let’s fly way up high
and hide,
flying on a magic carpet ride!”
Scattering love beads, flowers so tall
Changing lives for the best to all.
