A child sits with a sausage roll
smearing it all round his cake hole
crumbs, random, fall upon his vest
stick to juice marks, soaked into chest
he sits barely strapped in a pram
pushed at speed by trackie man.

A chavvie type, 3 quarter lengths
top trainers, tattoo's give him strength.
attack dog follows at his feet
he walks at speed upon the street
his girl walks speedy on behind
her hair tied up, her voice it grinds
she shouts in octaves way too low
directing trackie man to go

he lifts his hand from top of pram
whilst lifting, he picks up his can
of kestrel super. Half past ten
they must drink early. Trackie men
He shouts behind that she's a slag
she runs and hits him with her bag
the can, it drops and soaks his feet
domestic violence is complete

the child leans forward in his pram
and looks on up at trackie man
who slathers as he spits insults
he calls her something like a cult
she crosses arms and walks on by
she'll go to pub and meet a guy
who takes her out and gives her fags
onward, downward standards drag

the child looks on, the dog's confused
those two I guess, they are to lose
Trackie man, he grabs the pram
and shunts it because he's a man
the boy rolls out, screams, grazes hands
sudden regret from trackie man
he backtracks, but the girl comes back
no truce. She goes on the attack.

a volley of badly timed blows
he grabs the pram, onward he goes
initial problem with the pram
he wrestles as the brakes, they jam
the trackie man he picks up speed
he's on his way to pick up weed.
He tells girl of his destination
they make up, then a phone vibration

conversation at full volume
kev sits waiting at dog and spoon
in unison, they turn around
sausage roll falls on the ground.
The dog and child, they are not pardoned
a day for them in said beer garden.
and so it is, every day plan
achieved for likes of trackie man

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
