I was a king once
I think it was 1268
Killed scores of people
Until somebody
Cut my head off
Then I became a whore
Swindled the rich
Taking their money was such fun
But having sex without love
such hard work
never time to unwind
Until
I saw a ship
It was hmmm maybe
I think 1498
My sailors blood was thick
Sailed the stormiest seas
As captain of my ship
But heck there I was
Dead on the beach
From 1500's to 1900's
I was just a worker
Wandering aimlessly
From country to country
Work a bit here
Steal a bit here
Always in trouble
A peasant if ever there
Was one
But in 2011
I realized
I'm just a simple man
Writing simple lines
It's the happiest
Times of my life
I never want to be king again

Very interesting and creative. made me think about how times have changed, possibly more simple/easier? maybe...maybe not. you put a lot of things from different time frames into perspective. great write!
take care
