Like a lazy eye the Sunday sky flickers slowly.
On the elderflower breeze
Tiny delicate white petals swirl like confetti
Tossed from the twiggy hands of the restless trees.
The land is vibrant, emerald green and bubbling
In the strengthening fermentation of spring.
And all across the valley the sky emerges now,
Stone scrubbed and glistening,
From the stormy heights of the midnight hour.
Song Thrush, Sparrow and Blackbirds tremble
Their sweet voices echoing through the triumphant hedge.
On the glassy water a Mallard croaks,
The hillside shifts slightly
Under the first footfalls of the solitary walker.

Hi Dennis,
Birth, promise, vibrancy - it's all here, in
abundance.
Power to your elbow, Dennis!
