If I were to write a song,
Know that it would have no title.
For how could I limit myself to giving such,
Such a short description of you?
How could I summarize all you mean to me,
In just one three-minute song?
And come round and give it a title,
That doesn't give you justice at all.
If I were to write that title,
It would be long and full description,
Description of how you make my laugh and smile,
How you make the day all worth while.
So, if I were to write a song,
The song would be about you.
Through the ups and downs of how you make me feel,
How just talking to you brightens my day,
And when I don't, it kills me inside.
This would be the middle,
But the end would have a different curve,
It would be where I finally give myself courage
To tell you how I feel.
How do I give a title to this?
Try to help me once in a while.
