The Morning

Contributed by jonteD on Sunday, 27th April 2003 @ 10:05:00 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

The morning came too early,
Some awake joker on the radio,
All bright and breezy,
The bed is empty, I feel uneasy.

Top of the morning?
No good days to you dear sir,
Nothing has changed overnight,
Still alone but my heart alight.

She came to me last night,
As she always does,
Stole heart, soul and mind,
At one stage bodies entwined.

But by the first light,
She was long gone,
Left memories of such care,
Sweet, loving, but she’s not here.
