Deceptive Companion. Cylinder of lies.
You promised so much-
Yet took, never gave.
Scar me. Burn me.
Arrive, then spurn me.
Whittle me away, as you do. That's okay.
Merchant of death. So small yet so deadly.
Unleash your grey vapour, rejoice at it's dance,
beneath beaming lamp posts, which see through your secrets
whilst I drink you in. It's okay, I'm entranced.
A laughable premise you present, old friend.
Secretions fade with a gust of the wind.
Yet within me your disease will linger,
entwining with my soul, my sins.
Corrupt my heart. Infest my lungs.
Accelerate my life's decay.
A fool was I to welcome you,
believing you would soothe me.
But do not leave. I'll be okay.

Ahhh I was a Marlboro lover once too.
And still your words scare the poo out of me.
Thank YOU!
I need to let this habit go no matter the brand.
I love the way "for me", it explains everything that runs through my brain while I still yet have another. |
