He gave up the ghost

Expire he did
before he passed on
He gave up the ghost
and his dreams went along
By no means was he
what he wanted to be
A mouse lost in a maze
a close look would see
All things learned
he couldn’t forget
As his time drew closer
he felt no regret
He screamed to the devil
“show your face!”
“This earthly life for me
holds no place”
For the flame in his heart
had flickered and died
Save for the teardrops
hidden inside
As I write this
I’ll tell you no lies
No one will grieve
over his demise
