Love? and the Teen

Topic: LovePoetry

Love? I don't know. For sure it is a "like". I knew it was a like when I first saw her.
She was a rose. She was a rose among many roses, yet her petals were decorated
with a splendor, a majesty that would make Aphrodite sneer and molest with
jealous remarks.

-An apple sitting at the foot of a tree in Maine, this is her. A leaf sailing through
the air and landing on snow, this is her. I do not have the words to describe this
kind of beauty, Frost would, only he. I am only a teen, now. Perhaps in my twilight
years, isn't that what they call them? (I have too many thoughts in my head)-

I wished to pick her. I wished to uproot her from her garden and have her with me
all the time. Oh, but her petals, her beauty attracted another, not a bee.....a wasp!

Yet, her beauty still causes an alien sensation within me. A quiver, a fever,
an adrenaline felt by no other. Perhaps this is what the addict feels when
he plunges steel into his skin and feels the rush of a poison coursing through
his veins. But, like that addict, I must hide my addiction from people.....No, Her.

I shall be silent. She will never know. But, oh, how I see her in minds eye,
my underdeveloped mind?, always laughing. Radiant beauty. How I long.
'Tis fever to think I will ever have her. Fever......and nothing more.
Love? I don't know.
