The Knight and His Princess

Contributed by hacktastic on Wednesday, 27th April 2011 @ 10:34:19 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Often in my waking dreams do I
Do I relive that happy hour,
When we first come together
to taste of passions power.

Your beauty stealing over the scene
of the summers day as sun did rise;
You were there, my Hope, my Joy,
a look of love in your Eyes!

You stood in waiting as I came,
Venus statue in golden light:
lost in you as the first we touched,
the world slowly fading from sight.

Now, I speak of love and you Blush,
but keep composed with modest Grace;
I'd always and forever choose
to set my gaze upon your Face.

In all the history of love
ours sets a perfect, classic tone,
two meet, hearts sing, and wanting wrings,
Never stopping till they are one.

I have fought the dragons fire
Which crazed this bold and blue-eyed Knight,
I've journeyed cross the mountain woods
and stood guard many sleepless nights.

Then sometimes from the savage dark,
And often in the working day,
And always as I stare into
A green and sunny Glade.

Where are the saving memories?
My Angel, beautiful and bright;
Look me in the face to help me
to leave this miserable plight!

And that you brought me from a Cave;
And how my Madness goes away
And that your scent can calm my soul -
I must be with you every day.

I look on you with such delight,
and you would blush with love and shame;
then, like the murmur of a dream,
I hear you softly breathe my name.

You half inclose me in your arms,
and hold me with your loves embrace;
you rest your head upon my neck,
then turn to gaze into my face.

It is with all your love you kiss,
your cuteness is a bashful Art,
And might it be, I feel than see
The Swelling of your Heart.

All Thoughts, all Passions, all Delights,
Whatever stirs this mortal Frame,
Are all Ministers of Love,
And feed that sacred flame.

Inspired by William Wordsworth's "Love"

Ive never read a poem that so compleatly speaks in the langue of your heart, its as if you sipley lay a clean sheet of paper in front of you and poured not only your heart but also your soul and intire being onto it. It makes me feel equally sad and happy in extream measures in conjunction with each other.

Well done. When reading it, the pace almost felt like it could match a folk song, with a mid-evil feel to it. You did a proper job also with a choice of words and structure.

Except for some minor typos and misspellings, I really like it. It has passion, feelings, emotion, and longing. That is most important but to me, if she's that important, the spelling and grammar are equally as important. Simply my humble opinion.

Sorry for the lateness of this but better late than never. Life decided that I could not be here for a while.

Take care and keep writing. You have talent.

And thank you for asking me for my opinion. That means a lot to me.

Tim
