Why bother

Contributed by newguy on Wednesday, 27th April 2011 @ 11:47:17 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

I see the daunting tasks that lie ahead each day
I see unclimbable mountains set fast in my way
The trees seem to snag me I stumble on every rock
The forces conspire against me each new obstacle is a shock

Not understanding how everything is so wrong
Almost hoping life wont last too long
Pain and trepidation is saturated all around
The tunnels ending light nowhere to be found

The ground crumbles beneath my feet and thorns catch my side
The canopy fails to stop the rain that falls unfailing with every stride
Beast of all varieties seem drawn feverishly to my scent
A meal I fear I shall make for them and my fortune have I spent

But in the face of evil and tyranny I see a guiding light
That dashes all the agony away with strength over fright
Two pillars stand tall and on the horizon hold
Always within my gaze fueling a sense of bold

Children of the fallen man provide an unconquerable power
Lifting him on determined wings over a tomblike tower
No barrier can provide a blockade for which there is no escape
From the authority my muses bring me to conquer any scrape

Brilliant!
Not only were your words wonderfully lyrical, but, your flow found me instead of me having to try & find your flow...Exceptional in both thought & design!

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
