Innocents Taken

Contributed by laluwa on Wednesday, 27th April 2011 @ 01:07:26 AM in AEST
Topic: AmericanTragedy

I used to be young and naïve,
Used to daydream, and want all the things every girl wants.
Pure and untouched,
Curious but innocent.
All ripped away in one night.

Trusted you never to hurt me,
Yet you stole from me.
Stole the one thing that can only be given once.
Something to be given freely and in love.
All ripped away by your greed and lust.

Innocents gone,
A flower crushed in its prime.
A young and strong beauty,
Now destroyed by a dark and twisted weed.
Destroyed by the evil of a man with desires from hell.

Now I am no longer naïve, I know all the secrets,
Instead of sweet daydreams, my days and nights are filled with terror,
Now there is a dark stain on a once pure life, a fingerprint left by force,
No more curiosity instead a dark. Horrible. Knowledge.
All forced upon me in one night, by your own evil actions.

I bet after writing this you read it at least 20 times. And after each time, you felt just a little bit better. Everyone has had a dark monent in their life at one point I'm sure. The best way to get thru it all is to learn from it all. Great way to express yourself is thru writing and you did it very well. Wrting is all about detail.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
