In this town, not even the birds are free,
Even they are chained to the sky,
She asked how we’re going to get out of here,
If we don’t have wings to fly.
In this town, not even the trees are free,
Even they are chained to the ground,
She asked how we’re going to get out of here,
Even leaves of freedom fall down.
In this town, as our dreams begin to fall,
I look around and I feel nothing at all,
Because she went up, but I came down,
When she left me in this town.

omg, i almost had tears come to my eyes when i read the last 2 lines. it's a strangely beautiful tale (and i don't think "strange" is bad!) and the length is perfect. good use of imagery-- i saw the birds and the trees. |
