Don't You Ever Forget

Just don't forget me, that's all I ask. If I'm honest i thought we would last.
That's not how things have turned out, but I won't scream and shout.
So this is what I'm going to say, just don't forget me, not even for a day.
I will still think of you for hours, those memories will keep, and dream about you in my sleep, that is beyond my powers.
I'm not sure you will care, as I feel myself begin to tear.
But don't forget who it was, that made you, who you are today. Who supported you in that play.
Who first showed you how to love, how to share a perfect kiss. God, I really do hope you're reading this.
I don't want thanks or praise, know it's too late for that, I've given up, grown into a craze.
I bet you think I'm a loser or a worthless, thick, little, *******, well, maybe I am.
I might go hang myself by a string but I just ask you, one last thing.
Don't you ever forget me.
