I once knew a man by the name of ‘Me’
He wasn’t a friend but he wanted to be
I’d heard of a man that I could be come
It wasn’t confirmed, there is no rule of thumb
Someone who knew me, once asked how I’d been?
Asking of someone I’d not lately seen
I replied with a grin, yet almost a smile
“He ain’t been around here much in a while”
The man in the mirror I still recognise
He seems to be tired but older and wised
Maybe he’s fooling a man named ‘Me’
I’ll wait till I die and then we will see…
…won’t we?
