You gazed at me
And so we played
The childhood that dreams convey
And I loved you
You smiled at me
We kissed so sweet
And this crazy journey began with a wink
And I loved you
You cried so much
I held you close
You were a gift I treasured the most
And I loved you
You stopped smiling
I became depressed
I was filled with doubt I must confess
Because I loved you
This sickening truth inevitably grew
Where’s the Rebecca I once knew?
She has to be in there somewhere
For I love her
And you left me cold
You died inside
And through the years I couldn’t help but cry
For I loved you
I guess you never loved me too
