The End of Renaissance

As Midst these fires I wander freely,
The funeral pyres I recall quite clearly
For once, in time, when the world was young,
Earth's glorious rhyme was freely sung.
The Art these days is growing old,
There's a blackening haze that crawls like mold
It spreads and hangs over all mankind,
and with hunger-like pangs envelops the mind.
The lost arts of yore, the pen and ink's flow,
As though hurt to it's core, its passions sink low,
Lack of honor and virtue is now glamourized,
And humility too, is seen as a crime.
Books are thrown in the fire as we happily devolve,
We no longer desire life's mysteries to solve.
The New Lost Generation, roll out the red carpet.
With our false jubilation, the Renaissance falls silent.
We resent heaven's love, we need only our wealth,
Angels weep up above, as we toast to our health.
