I'll Get It Right This Time

I don’t deserve all this
Don’t do all this for me!
I can’t accept these flowers
Don’t bake a cake for me!
I don’t do enough for you
Don’t spare you enough time
I tore apart our family
It’s no-one’s fault but mine!

I should’ve done something sooner
Should’ve saved you all this pain
I’m no good as a mother
Things will never be the same
I’m no longer strong enough
I can’t stand up and fight
It matters not how hard I try
I just never get things right

So go away, just leave me be
You’ll understand someday
You’ll do better without me
Your father will sit and play
My darlings, I’m so sorry
I love you and I let you down
But I think I’ve found the answer
It’s hidden in my gown.

So I’ll just go up to my room
Get out of everyone’s way
I’m tired and I need to sleep
So please don’t ask me to stay
I’ll kiss you all goodnight now
Don’t worry about the noise you make
I’ll just lock my bedroom door
Tell your father make no mistake

....I’ll get it right this time!
